The basal foliage though is only about 60cm wide and bushy - the word giant really comes from the tall airy stems of flowers as in my garden the clumps of foliage are only about 50-60cm high with the flowers that float above the foliage

this little plant is more than happy in full sun or partial shade but a covering of mulch will help to give it some moisture although ours seem to cope in even the driest of summer conditions
