This rare 1950s Melissa compact has an inlay which features an embroidered bird of paradise and a female. The original clear acetate cover has kept the lid decoration pristine. All catches and hinges work exactly as they should. The mirror gives a clear and accurate reflection. The inner lid and base are decorated with complex guilloche engraving.
