Victorian "Fool's Gold" Whitby Jet Heart Pendant navette The figure is carved fromDATE: Victorian, c. 1900 Weird Victorian Whitby Jet heart pendant set with six circular sections of pyrite (fools gold). With a 9k gold wire frame, twisted at the top to form a bail, it's a really unusual thing pondering the meaning significance, I get "fool's heart of gold", "only fools fall in love", "foolish love" etc etc. Maybe overthought over pessimistic, but the black jet (mourning) and fool's gold certainly suggest failed relationship to me.
